    WHAT IS PRE-APPRENTICESHIP?

A pre-apprenticeship is a program or set of strategies designed to prepare individuals for entry into Registered Apprenticeship Programs (RAP) or other job opportunities. Pre-apprenticeships may last from a few weeks to a few months and may or may not include wages or stipends. Pre-apprenticeship programs have varied program elements; however, at the core, it places an individual on a pathway to employability through a RAP.

The Electrical Training Academy has partnered with the Scioto County, Pike County, and Greenup County Career and Technical Centers to offer a pre-apprenticeship program for Electrical students.

Students who are in the Pre-Apprenticeship have the opportunity to complete The Electrical Training Academy's first-year curriculum during their Junior and Senior years at the CTC. Those who receive 75% or higher on their exams will receive dual credit. Those who complete all their exams with 75% or higher will receive full dual credit for all exams.

Once the student has received full dual credit, applies for the registered apprenticeship, and is selected, they will start as a second-year registered apprentice.

Students enrolled in our partnering pre-apprenticeship programs can apply to the registered apprenticeship program during their senior year of high school.
